Q) Will my Intellipost connect without WiFi?
A) Primary connection is by Bluetooth enabling operation directly from Phone / Tablet or remote regardless of the availability of WiFi, making it useable in underground carparks and remote areas. With a connection to your home WiFi, you are able to control your Intellipost remotely, from anywhere in the world.
Q) What happens if my Intellipost battery runs out or it won’t connect?
A) There’s an integral manual key-override enabling manual removal of the Intellipost, the same key opens the battery compartment for recharging and access to the reset.
Q) How do I update the software in my Intellipost?
A) Over the air updates can be pushed to your Intellipost while in-range and using the Intellipost app.
Q) What is your “DO NOT DRIVE” feature?
A) “DO NOT DRIVE” is our anti-collision feature, which pushes a notification to your mobile phone to alert you to any raised Intellipost(s) prior to driving away. The speed at which this feature sends the alert is subject to your own car’s bluetooth capability.
Q) My car hasn’t got Bluetooth, will “DO NOT DRIVE” still work?
A) No, however you can get our optional 12V module which plugs into any 12v car socket and provides visual feedback as to whether your Intellipost is raised or lowered.
Q) How long does the battery last between charges?
A) Our standard battery will last around 3000 cycles between charges. Average use is 8 raising/ lowering cycles a day, so approximately 45-60 days. The battery level will decrease slowly even without operation, the receivers and internal circuit boards are always on.
Q) What happens if I damage my Intellipost?
A) In 90% of cases you can replace the post, leaving the ground unit where it is. We can supply just the post as a spare part. We designed it this way so that once installed there should be no further excavation or disturbance of the driveway/ installation area.
Q) What if I don’t have a smartphone or tablet?
A) Both the Standard and Connected variants of our Intellipost 2.0 now come with simple push button remotes, so no smart tech is needed.
