This patented shallow mount rising bollard system represents a major step forward in bollard technology—drastically reducing both groundwork and installation costs compared to traditional deep-mount systems. Developed by our Micro Engineering Division, it meets the growing demand for shallow foundation solutions in both manual and hydraulic formats.
Requiring no mains power, the bollard is raised and lowered using a standard 18v cordless drill. Crash tested to stop a 7.5-tonne truck travelling at 50mph (80km/h) at 90 degrees, the system remained operational even after impact. Its shallow 580mm foundation reduces the need to re-divert underground utilities, making it one of the most cost-effective and practical options available.
Installed as a standalone unit, it is low maintenance, suitable for use on gradients, and designed to follow the contours of the ground. In the event of damage, all internal components can be easily removed and replaced without disturbing the foundation. When fitted with a stainless steel cover, the bollard delivers an aesthetically pleasing finish suitable for public and commercial environments.
The RB003-50 comes with a grade 316 stainless steel shroud as standard, with up to one or two hi-viz bands in a variety of colour options.
Shrouds can be supplied in any standard RAL colour, with fully bespoke designs available to match specific project requirements. To explore the options, get in touch with our sales team on 01535 500901.
