Do the colours of your bollard matter?

It’s one of those questions that crops up from time to time – and to be honest, to some degree it comes down to personal preference. However, the colour of your bollard does serve some useful practical (and a few aesthetic) purposes, so while it might not be your primary consideration when you’re choosing driveway bollards, here are a couple of things to bear in mind.

Certain colours maximise visibility

Bright colours can help to make your bollard more visible from a distance. That can help prevent drivers from accidentally knocking into them, especially if they’re using your drive to park or turn around (which can be irritating as well as potentially dangerous). It’s particularly helpful if people are driving across your space in the dark, as black bollards can all too easily blend into the night. That doesn’t make them any less secure, but ideally, you’ll want people to avoid knocking into them in the first place!
