ORIGINAL DESIGN AND MANUFACTURERS
Our SB.14 Standard Flow Plate is the original, reliable solution for enforcing one-way directional traffic. It’s ideal for car park entrances and exits, preventing drivers from using roads as shortcuts and establishing controlled traffic flow wherever needed.
The Surface Mounted Flow Plate (Patent Nos. 22385658, 22705338) is designed with key advantages over sunken designs, eliminating the need to pierce road surfaces. These plates simply bolt to the surface, avoiding the need for extensive groundwork and making installation quick and effective.
Unlike sunken designs, our SB.14 Flow Plate is also suitable for upper levels in multi-story car parks, where it significantly reduces the risk of damaging damp membranes. They can be installed on sloped entrances and exits as well (please see our recommendations).
With over 25 years of production, our SB.14 Flow Plate remains the first and original design. Tested to endure over a million uses, our plates are built to last and come with a 24-month guarantee.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the SB.14 Flow Plates suitable for sports cars?
Yes, our SB.14 Standard plates are compatible with sports cars. However, we recommend pairing them with our SB.22 75mm Speed Ramp to control approach speeds. Flow plates manage traffic direction, not speed, so slower speeds will prevent potential damage to the plates.
Can I lock the plates down for emergency vehicles?
Yes, our SB.14 Locking Bar allows for temporary locking, enabling two-way access for emergency vehicles. However, it should only be used as a temporary measure and not as a permanent fixture.
Are the SB.14 Standards suitable for heavy goods vehicles?
No, the SB.14 Standard is not designed for HGVs, with a maximum load capacity of one tonne per axle. For both cars and HGVs, we recommend our SB.14 HGV Low Flap.
How many plates do I need?
Please refer to our SB.14 information sheet for guidance.
